Ian and Chris,
By coincidence I have also just started tracking down the Haysoms of Hull.I am married to Elizabeth (nee Haysom) who was born in Hull in 1951. Interestingly she has a brother, Ian - born in 1949 + other siblings (I can supply further details should our correspondence progress). We are currently resident in UK (and I, too, have been doing the FRC slog at Farringdon!) but our long term place of residence is Queensland, Australia; - Elizabeth having emmigrated there in 1970.Elizabeth's father was John Edward Haysom and her grandfather, Laurence Haysom (b 1880).Laurence was a brother of Charles (b 1874 - your great-grandfather, Ian) and James Edward (b 1876 - your grandfather, Chris). There were also sisters - Margaret and Isobel and another brother, John - all born at Goole to James (b 1846) and Elizabeth (b 1847).All this suggests a fairly strong blood relationship between you two and my wife's family. I have more information we could exchange if you wish to establish Email contact.
Regards,
Alan Stephens
