Hi Mary,
I may be able to help you out a little bit with this. I can at least verify that my grandparents (Lawrence Joseph Hayse and Ora Hayse, nee Merideth)were from Leitchfield, KY. There are other Hayse's that live there but I have not seen them in years and know very little about them. I have a cousin named Florine and her mother's name is Mae Ramsey and her mother was a Hayse but I do not remember her name. I currently live in Indianapolis, IN. but according to family folklore, my grandfather escaped from jail in Kentucky and ended up in this area.
