Now that is interesting. Col John Jacob Astor also died on the Titanic. Again this all goes back to the families of the Trent Affair.

One of those involved was Simon Cameron. Edwin M Stanton replaced Simon Cameron from Harrisburg as Secretary of War. Simon Cameron was a close friend of Henry Clary Frick. It was Henry Clay Frick who had the ticket for room B52 used in the movie Titanic directed by James Cameron. It was one of four state rooms with a fireplace. The other three were filled and Henry Clay Frick missed the boat so room B52 went empty. Thus the backdrop for the movie.

So your saying Charles Melville Hays died on the Titanic. Do you know what class he was in?
