I'm researching a Hays line that seems to follow a similar pattern as the ones you all are talking about, and I'm wondering if we might have ancestors in common. I have a Sandy A. Hays who was born in VA ca. 1806. At some point, he moved to KY and married someone named either Jane or Lucy (most things I've seen say Jane, but one census says Lucy). We think Lucy/Jane's maiden name may have been Lucas. Sandy was in Fountain Co, IN, for the 1870 census, and his son was there for the 1860 one. I keep hitting dead ends on this line, so anything anyone could tell me would be helpful Thank you!
