I do have the book Americans of Jewish Decent by Malcolm Stern. My family is not in the book but some relatives in my Myers family cemetery seem to be very close to a Myers family in the book.
Jacob Myers was a surveyor for George Washington and in some Jewish publications, he was with George Washington and Christopher Gist when they were in Pittsburgh.
As you know, Christopher Gist's granddaughter Marie Gist was married to Benjamin Gratz. They are in the book as well as the Gratz family.
Solomon Etting married Rachael Gratz. Their daughter was Mariam Etting who married Jacob Myers.
This is not the Jacob Myers who was the surveyor. This Jacob Myers was the uncle of Col AC Myers. General David Emanuel Twiggs named Ft Myers in Lee County Florida after Col Myers. This is the family who seem to have relatives in Pittsburgh.
Ft Myers officials feel this book done by Malcolm Stern is all trash and not worth one minute to look at but that's another issue.
I have not followed the Hays family although they are in the book. As you might know, Jewish silversmith Myer Myers sister married Moses Michael Hays. Then Myer Myers daughter married Jacob Mordecai a cannon expert with ties to the Dupont family. Then Col AC Myers' grandfather was Mordecai Myers with ties to Col Francis Marion.
This all connects back to General Mordecai Gist and Col Francis Marion. Mordecai Gist supplied goods and services to Col Francis Marion and to his boss General Harry Lighthorse Lee who was General Robert E Lee's father.
It's a big web so I can't answer your question off hand. I will have to look at it. Although, I believe the key to all these families is centered around the family of Christopher Gist.
