Hello Brenda,
I apologize for being so slow to reply but I just spent a week in Tennessee and got home on Monday, still trying to catch up.
About my lineage from Samuel Hays who came with his three brothers (William, Robert and James) and father (John) to this country in 1775, there follows here the information I have ---- Samuel Hays is the fifth son of John Hays. Samuel was born in Ireland February 27th, 1762. He settled with his father in Chartiers Township, Washington Co., Pennsylvania. He married Agness MacAfee and they had a large family, some of whom were born in Washington Co., Pa. and the younger ones born in Brooke Co., Virginia, now West Virginia.Samuel died in 1831 and Agness in 1840. They are buried in Three Springs Presbyterian Cemetery at Wierton, West Virginia.Their children are Jane, David (b. January 17, 1802), James, Andrew, Lettis, Agness, Joseph, Henry, John, William, and two other sons the writer was not sure of but thought them to be Robert and Samuel. (Just a note of interest, General Alexander Hays' parents were also Samuel and Agness Hays and they too lived near Pittsburgh at about the same time as my forebears but if they were related, it would have been in Ireland)As you can see, I do not have much information on Samuel and Agness' children and the reason I have David's birthday is because that is my line. David, the first son of Samuel and Agness, went with his parents when he was about 12 years old to Brooke Co., Virginia. He married Rebecca Simpson, the third child of Robert and Elizabeth Griffith Simpson on September 8, 1825.They had three sons, Robert Simpson Hays b. January 6, 1827, Joseph Hays b. May 20, 1828, and Samuel Hays b. April 23, 1830.On August 1, 1854, David and one of his sons, Joseph, started into Kansas Territory (they had spent the preceding year in Missouri waiting for the Kansas-Nebraska Act to pass which opened up the territory). Shortly, all of David's family were in Kansas. My lineage is through David's son Samuel who married Termuthis Jane Vance. They had a large family and of that family, my grandfather Harvey Signer (later Signor)married Keturah(Kittie)Hays. So, it is that John was my gggg grandfather, the first Samuel my ggg grandfather, David my gg grandfather, second Samuel my g grandfather and then Kittie my grandmother. There you have it -- I hope you have all kinds of connections and loads of information about first Samuel's siblings (see what I wrote to Carl Martin about William)and first Samuel's children, like for instance all the siblings of David. Good luck and best wishes in your pursuit of the Hays clan lineages.
