Keith,
Thanks for the detailed reply.I mis-spoke earlier.John Edward Hays was my great-grandfather, not my grandfather.I don't have a copy of his death certificate, but I'm sure my grandmother does.I'll see if I can get a copy.
Here's what I have on my John Edward Hays:
John Edward Hays (b. 4/15/1886, d. 10/1974)
married Grace Ann Franklin (b. 5/2/1900, d. 10/2/1993)
The rest of the info I have on John Edward's ancestors is based on info from my grandmother (I also have a family picture of John Edward's family: mother, father, and siblings). Here's what I have:
Edward Hays married Elise?
They had the following children:
Helen
Frank
Elizabeth
Louisa
George
Anna
Flora
Sarah Margaret
Junia
Alice
James
John Edward (my ggrandfather and the youngest child)
This family has some matches against the family of John Levin Hays and Elizabeth Divelbiss from your list.I do know that my John Edward Hays and his mother, father, and siblings lived on a farm outside of Shippensburg, Franklin Co., PA (I am familiar with Franklin Co., since I lived the first 21 years of my life there).
Do you know any more about the John Levin Hays family?
