I believe this is the same Mary Haymes.
In the marrige records at Chatham courthouse it lists the following:
Whitmill C. Chaney, age 28, married Mary Roberta Haymes, age 16, on November 21 1883 in Pittsylvania County. Gave as place of birth and residence Pittsylvania Co. It listed Whitmill Chaneys parents as Joshua D. and Elizabeth P. Chaney. Marys parents were listed as John B. and Martha Haymes.
This would give an approx. birthdate for Mary as 1867, which is supported in the 1880 census where she is listed in John B's household as age 13.
They are buried at Leemont Cem. in the city of Danville. Their markers read the following;
Mary Haymes Chaney
may 2 1867
March 16, 1950
W C Chaney
Dec. 17, 1855
March 29, 1923
There is also a marker for a daughter:
Mattie E. Chaney
daught of W.C. Chaney
Sept 15, 1884
Aug 25 1909
One of Marys' sister, Martha who also married a Chaney,(John C. Chaney) is also there:

May 20, 1868
Feb. 10, 1936
We are working on this line of Haymes geneology, Mary would be a sister to my husbands great grandfather John Arch Haymes, son of John Bennett Haymes. Hopefully some of this information will confirm or connect with some of what you have. We will be glad to share all we have found on the other siblings and onward. Some is still sketchy, and with further research hope to fill in. We have not yet been able to prove who John B's parents were, but have an educated guess that they were Edmund Haymes and Nancy B. Shelton. E-mail me directly and I might be able to put you in touch with someone who might remember Mary.
