The Winchester, Frederick County, Virginia Haymakers were of the Hammacher line from what I have seen. I cannot find a connection between the Heumacher line of Haymakers and the Hammacher line of Haymakers. It appears that Adam may have adopted the Haymaker name when he arrived in Winchester. From what I have seen, the Hammacher line seems to originate in Lancaster County, PA. The Heumacher line appears to have originated in Lehigh County, PA, then to York County, PA, and then to Allegheny/Westmoreland Counties of PA. Both lines are of German descent. Dave Hammaker may be able to help you with your "Unknown" Haymaker who married Elizabeth Dick. Some of these Winchester Haymakers found their way to Kentucky, Ohio, and Indiana. Did yours move this direction?
