I have a 2 volume book with the history of the John Hayes family. John Hayes settled in Dover New Hampshire on or about 1680. This book contains most of his descendents up to the date of publish (1936). The book was compiled and published by Katherine F. Richmond of Tyngsboro, Mass by The Tuttle Publishing Company, Inc. of Rutland, Vermont. Most of John Hayes descendents lived in the greater New Hampshire area, however, my closer ancestors lived in western Massachusetts. This is NOT an offer to sell but an offer to share information. The book contains a comprenhensive index and if you are looking for someone that was from this area, this book may contain some useful information. Since I'm a history buff, I've found it very fascinating. There are tidbits of information such as:
3. Census related information
4. Causes of Death (Indian fights, Revolutionary War, etc.)
5. Partial trees for spouses
6. grave sites
7. Where they lived (and if the house still stood in 1930)
8. Preachers who wed or baptised them
9. mid wives who were present at child births
10. ... and much more
If you are looking for someone within this Hayes tree, I will be willing (maybe not very quickly based on the number of requests I get), to see if the one you are looking for is possibly in this book. If so, I can forward you the information that is in here (again not necessarily very quickly). I do have a full time job so this is just a hobby. Again this is FREE.
I will be posting my portion of the Hayes tree to my website sometime this fall (probably November). I've been researching my Sheehan, Whitcomb, Crosby, and Porter lines so it may take a while before I get my Hayes data published. I will post another message once I've published the data.
I hope I can help some of you,
ps. For anyone that was wondering, my mom's maiden name is Hayes. She's the daughter of the late Oswald Irving Hayes of Cummington, Mass. (page 607 of Volume 2).
pss. The books are NOT for sale (they belong to my mother)! Please don't even ask (thanks).
