Bernice,
My gr-gr-grandfather was Felix Grundy VanMeter b: 12 May 1836, Meade Co., Kentucky. In the 1880 US Census his household shows up in the census place: Haycrafts, Hardin, Kentucky. He was married to Nancy (or Nannie) Susan Haynes on 07 Aug 1856 in Kentucky. She was born on 02 Jun 1840 in Big Springs, Meade Co., Kentucky. They had 5 children listed; Henry B. (b;1863), David S. (b:1866), Richard (b:1870), Lucy(b:1877), and Rebecca(b:1880). My questions are: 1) where was the Haycrafts census place in Hardin County? 2) why do Felix Grundy VanMeter and Felix Grundy Haycraft have the same two first names? 3) why does Isaac VanMeter Haycraft have the VanMeter middle name? 4) do you have any information on the ancestors of Felix Grundy VanMeter? and 5) what information is there about the VanMeter line and connections between the Haycrafts and VanMeters?
