Hi Peter,

I've seen a few Elizabeth Hays in my family, but unfortunately none of the with a middle name of Stuart. That middle name would tend to suggest that her Mother's maiden name was Stuart, and again, I've not seen any one with a surname of Stuart in my research.
Also, I've not seen Walters or Tommys either, so we're probably a fair way off in the distance.
I am envious of your Dad being able to take a trip to Scotland, I'm in Australia too, which makes it tricky to do this sort of research long distance, so being able to get up close is a real opportunity.
You should be able to get your Father's parent's marriage certificate, and that will almost certainly have more information on it such as Elizabeth's Father's name, and locations of where they were born, married and living at the time of marriage. From there you should be able to spread out to the rest of your Grandmother's family.
Best of luck in your research, and hope your Dad has a great trip!

Cheers,

Tim
