Hello Dawn and Thnak You for replying. If I am not mistaken the w in the last name HAWRYLUK was once a V as well as the u in my last name once was. The last name would have been pronounced like this HAVE-RE-LUKE. I am almost sure of it having friend's that are Slovak and Polish. When fisrt having meet certain people from Poland and Eastern europe they would pronounce it the same way my father had told me it had been originally pronounced.Just for the record I intend on getting my grandfather's death certificate and perhaps if there is any info of what my great grandfather's name is and spelling as well as if birthplace happens to be on it. My grandfather's name was Nicholas and my father was John Nicholas from what was on his Military record. He had died Feb 99,but I also have an Aunt who is approx 75 yrs old and her name is Wanda who is still alive, my father also had a younger sister named Anna who died around 20 years ago. I think I will speak with Wanda and grill her for all that she maybe able to recollect. My father also had a brother named Frank who I had met about 8 yrs ago who happen to move out to AZ. I had tried to call him but I have a feeling that he is deathly ill or near death. He was very aloof and wasn't very receptive to my visit. Good thing I was out there for a wedding and not directly wanting to see him anyway, If you don't mind and or have the time I would like to continue the correspondence with you and any updates either of us may come across. I hope we can figure this all out.
