Hawman Family Site update
I have been cleaning out old email addresses on the Hawman Family site.If you want new access to the site, please email me at [email protected]
For you that have not ever been to the site or not therefor several years, we did find that John, Michael, and Gabriel Hawman who were in Canada in 1839 were brothers. They were the sons of Michael and Elizabeth Haaman.Patricia Blackstock found the church records that made the connection.
The Hamman DNA project added the Hawman surname to the testing site.Wesley Hawman had the DNA testing done.We have found several connections that go back to Germany in 1600-1700.We need more testing done. For those of you how do not know about the DNA testing, males who carry the surname Hawman have a common marker on their dna.It is past from father to son. This is the marker Wesley had tested. Now if we can get other males who carry the Hawman surname to test, we can compare it to Wesley. If the makers match then we know that their is a common ancestor. The more markers that match the closer the common ancestor.I really want Hawman's from Penns, to be tested and/or ancestors from John and Michael Hawman. This could open a lot of doors for connecting the Hawman lines. If anyone is willing to do the testing, please contact me, or see the information on the Hawman Family Site.Ladies if you know someone who might be tested, please help with passing the information on.
The other thing I am asking is if you are still interested in the Hawman Family site and research, please either update your information on the site, or let me know.I do not want to be bothering you if you are no longer interested.
Thank you to all those who have shared and helped us with all the wonderful information and pictures on the site.
Sincerely,
Judy Hawman
