Thank you very much for your information.As you might see reading through other postings in the Hawman File on GENFORUM, it appears that John and Eliza Hawman left Grey Co. in the late 1850s because they appear in the 1860 census for Clinton Co., Iowa.They are believed to have had at least six children; Michael b.1852, William b. 1854c,Mary b. 1856c, Elizabeth b. 1858c, Sarah b. 1858c (twins?), and Charles b. 1865c.He married Sarah E. Maudlin in 1888 in Jaspar Co., Iowa.Charles recorded his birthplace as Illinois, although because of his parents residence there in 1860, and his marriage location in 1888, I wonder if he wasn't actually born in Iowa.To date though we have found no further information on John and Elizaafter the 1860 census.
Thanks again for your input, and if anything further comes to mind I would be most interested in your findings.
