Happy to help.

One thing I might suggest is the Hawley/Holley family DNA project at familytreedna.com. Now, it only works for male participants as the common thread is the Y-DNA. Assuming the name "Helen" is a giveaway, do you have any brothers? If so it could be helpful to both of us as these studies need more participants. If not, if you find any male cousins I would strongly encourage them to participate.

Note that most U.S. Hawleys descend from one of two families - the "Hawleys" who descend from Joseph Hawley (Stratford, Connecticut) and his brother Thomas Hawley (Mass., fewer descendants) who arrived by 1640. Separately, there are the "Holleys" who descend from John Holly/Holley who settled in Stamford, CT in the 1640s. Strangely enough I descend from the Holley line (spelling changed around 1800). Anyway, the fact that your family came later is of great benefit as it could establish a common ancestor - maybe.

I recommend the 25-marker test, more expensive ($200) but more useful.
