Oh the intrigue of trying to track down the women in a family! The trick seems to be discovering those tidbits that suddenly unlock the mystery!
I have seen Elizabeth's last name spelled "Hocking." As a former English teacher, that drives me crazy! Her children were Nancy, Rutha, Nicy, John (my ancestor), Thomas, and James. John married Arilla (Riller) Osburn, daughter of Thomas Osburn and Elizabeth Simpson. (I would love to figure out her connection!) Thomas was from Baltimore CO, MD, as were all the previous Simpson men. Some of the records have mentioned St. George's Parish.
Elizabeth was William Simpson's second wife. The first was named Avarilla Perkins. Some of their children were born in Baltimore CO, MD. Some were born in Rowan CO, NC. Their names were Reuben, William, Rachel, and Sarah.
I have lots of information, but not about Elizabeth! The information I was given about her gave only her birthdate and her father's name. No mother, siblings, or place of birth. Her puzzle may have to simmer awhile!
Thanks for checking. I am sorry I don't have more clues to give you.
Dottie :)
