I have seen in different sources that there appears to be two different Joseph Hawkins with sons named Samuel in VA. Some of these lines even state that both Samuels married a Christina or Catherine Worthington. I am desceneded from Samuel Hawkins and the Christina Worthington through their daughter Sarah hawkins b. 1786 Bourbon County, KY who married Andrew Fouts b. 1787-1781. What I am confused about is how the connections are being made from this Samuel to either the Joseph who married Sarah Marlin, parents John H. and Mary Long, or the Joseph whose father is Thomas, married an Edwards or Jones, I believe. Does anyone have any proof of the connection? And if it is the Joseph, son of Thomas, how far back in the lineage have you found?
