Looking for William Hawkins from Craven or Beaufort County (and possibly Lenoir or Jones Co.) of North Carolina who died in this area around 1859. He married Martha White sometime before 1852.
Martha White Hawkins was born around 1831, and is listed with her children in both the Lenoir and Craven County 1860 Census.
William and Martha Hawkins were the parents of Elizabeth Hawkins Woodard Riggs (1852-1933) and Nancy Ellen Hawkins Barnes (1857-1918) both of whom lived in Beaufort and/or Craven Co. and died in Pamlico Co.
It is possible this line was part American Indian (Native American).
