Well, actually, no, I'm not related to the Hawkins. My line was from George and Ruth Ware, whose son and daughter-in-law are buried in the larger part of the cemetery. It's called Walnut Grove, and both groups (Walnut Grove and Hawkins Cemetery) were moved to the present site when Old Highway 11 was widened into the Bessemer Superhighway.Walnut Grove takes up most of the area, and the Hawkins Cemetery is located in the back right corner. The cemeteries are privately owned, and I think the owner(s) keep it up pretty good - mowed, etc.But some stones are no longer with their graves. They're lined up near graves with the same name, though, so at least that's better than being broken, or thrown away, or lost underground.I'm putting what I have on the two cemeteries on here in case anyone else can use the info. It's kind of long...
As to the other, I wouldn't know how you would go about finding out if there were Creek relatives way back.I think those records are few and far between. But I wish you the best of luck in searching.

The David Hawkins Cemetery was originally located about six
miles south of Birmingham, Jefferson County, Alabama, on
what is now the superhighway to Bessemer.David Hawkins
chose the location from part of his plantion, Hawkins
Springs, to be the family cemetery. It was enclosed with a
fence of wide white plankes with a grove of old oak trees
surrounding it.Only members of his family were buried in
that place of beauty and harmony.
When it was decided to widen the superhighway in about 1950,
the David Hawkins Cemetery land was needed for the project.
The graves and stones were moved across the road to the Walnut
Grove Cemetery where all of David Hawkins's family was reburied.
The abstractor of this survey visited the cemetery before
the graves were moved. What follows is the information
gathered at that time.Information in parenthesis ( )
