My great-great grandmother was Suzanne Agnes Hawkings who was a lifelong resident of Devonport. Her husband was William Miller. Suzanne Agnes Hawkings' father was Thomas Hawkings who was a Master Baker in Devonport. Several members of the HAWKINGS family were in the baking business and also the grocery business. Maria Gard SLEEMAN was a daughter of Thomas HAWKINGS who died in 1900 at 8 Wake St. He was attended by his married daughter MARIA GARD TOZER (formerly HAWKINGS). I do want to learn more about the HAWKINGS family. THOMAS HAWKINGS'father was George HAWKINGS and was a brewer but their roots appear to go to HELSTON, CORNWALL.
