Linda, this is the same line I am researching.James A. is like my 2nd cousin.I have a lot of info on the Hawkins line and I am filling in patches here and there.Would be delited to exchange info with you.I am going to Iowa the first week of July with the purpose of searching our Hawkins line.James A.'s first wife Susanna Logan Hawkins is buried here in Christian County, Illinois in 1876 and James remarried to a Mary J. Johnson Busby in 1877.They had a few more children and James appears to have died in Vandalia, Iowa and is buried there with his second wife Mary.
