Heres another note ... maybe a clue .. maybe a needle in a haystack... 1790 census of bedford co pa lists a william with wife and children who could fit in the ages with our williams children.now for oral family history... i have been told out William was forced to leave England for killing a rooster? and he served a few years on a chowder boat...wnow question is was this william 1766 or his father?also i have a work contract for a william hawkins bound to a Jacob White in Washington Co pa to purchase land. was this the land where thomas hockings meeting house was built?also abrahams death cert lists cass. as his mother .. no last name.. in searching the washington, monongahela and marion area i have found only one casrandra.. she is listed as a roberts. father roger roberts.but i can not PROVE she is our cassrandra.. and the robert hawkins line also claims her as well as being the church builders.an article by pearl martin stanily clames that william can neither read or write, yet the deed was signed at the close of the sale to the trustees of the church. but again that article also states that william 1737 is our williams father...also it was rumoured that cassrandras last name was white... in searching the whites of washington co pa i find no casrandra listed .. not saying she doesnt exist just that i havent found her.
i have worked on this line for over 7 years now.. its all very confuseing and i believe its gonna take alot of researchers pulling together to find the truth.as far asthe rumor of william hawkins and nancy ann hogg d/o peter hogg.. their wedding date was way off william would have had to been born out of wedlock by several years.
enless he would be the son of william and sarah and sarah died and he remaried.
another note,5 of william 1766 children were active in the church as lay ministers and quite a few of his grandchildren also.could this steem from a very religous home? roger roberts was also a minister...
so i would say they had a very religous background and carried it on to some extent.
wouldnt it be wonderfull if we could find one piece of solid info that placed everything lse in line? lol
sincerely,
Theresa
