Judy, you state here that your William Henry Hawkins was born 1858.I assume you mean in Greenville Co., S. C. ?Then, in another message, I might be mixed up when I read it to say he died in 1963 at age 94?This would make his birth more like 1870. Or were you writing about another person. I am trying to help you discover exactly where William Henry Hawkins'father, William Hawkins was born by reading the censuses.I found about 10 William Hawkins names in Greenville Co., in 1900.Which one was William Henry Hawkins ? and was his age 42 or 30 in 1900.?Most of theearly Hawkins families were related to each other back in the 1790/1800 period so I was trying to find out the earliest record you have that shows Wm. H. as being there in Greenville Co..As I said before, my branch was gonebefore 1809.but I am sure that many of them did stay there as evidenced by the censuses.Once you prove your branch was indeed in South Carolina, thegoingcould be easier.I am just trying to help you with your brick wall.
