Correction Benj Hawkins, Indian Agt family - early 1800s
Sorry!Rechecked the book:Here's what the book said.
Six daughters:one son.
(1) Georgia - the oldest - died unmarried - intestate. Her shares in the estate was divided among her siblings.
(2) Carolina: died unmarried, her shares divided.
(3) Muscogee m. Bagnell B. Tiller (who separated from her)
(4) Cherokee m. Lewis Lawshe
(5) Virginia m. William Carr
(6) Jeffersonia (very young when her father died) married Francis Bacon.Francis Bacon, of course, is a very well known name, so I looked him up in the Encyclopedia. The Francis Bacon who is so famous died in the 1600's.It seems that our Jeffersonia Hawkins Jones was not Benj Hawkins grand-daughter.If there is a connection that you know of, please respond.email [email protected]
