Hi, Here is some information on one of the London Hawkey's
that Michael entered, They did have a coach building firm and were related to the Cornwall connections.

I'm Michael Edward Sidney Hawkey born 1954
two brothers Christopher Robin b1955, Leslie Brian b1957,
and sister Gillian Anne b1958

All born in Leytinstone East London

Father Michael Edward Alan Hawkey b1924
he had 2 brothers Leslie and John and a sister Eleanor
both brothers and sister are dead

My Grandfather was Sidney George Hawkey OBE lived
in Leytonstone East London, run a vehicle body business
he was born around 1850 died folkstone approx 1977
his wife was winifred who died approx 1965
I know he had a brother Edward and Reginald and a sister
called Renee. Renee died in 1981 and was the last of that
generation. I believe my grandfather was one of 8 children

There was a cousin called Susan who was a school teacher.

From memory my grandfather told me that a member of the family researched the family years before and traced it back
to cornwall and stopped because he discovered that a relative was hang for ship wrecking in cornwall.
also there was a hawkey who used to travel through the east end of London in a handsome cab throwing fish to the poor. He was known as haddock hawkey
