Another Cornish Hawkey
Another Cornish Hawkey! Just stumbled across this site. I was born in 1942 in Wadebridge, N. Cornwall, only child of Kenneth John Geach Hawkey, who farmed at Roserrow (one of the county's most ancient houses) just inland from Polzeath. His father, my grandfather, was John Giles Hawkey, who until World War 2 farmed at Treharrock, St Kew -his wife, my paternal grandmother, was Gwendoline Tom. The Tom Brothers, Leonard & Graham, were wealthy stone quarry proprietors. We moved from Cornwall to Surrey when I was about six, but I have fond memories. Both my grandparents are buried at (I think) St Kew church. Any connections/links/ghostly voices from the past gratefully received. I have a huge box of hundreds of old family photos going right back pre-First World War. Contacts?
