Hereditary Corneal Dystrophy
Posted by: Helen Hawes (ID *****2203) Date: September 28, 2008 at 02:24:15

My strain of the Hawes family suffered from a graph granular type dystrophy of the cornea. If anyone else of the Hawes name has the same condition we are probably related!

Please let me know as the medical profession is trying to find the gene responsible and needs to test lots of the Hawes family members to do so. Then it can be ensured that future generations can be born without the defective gene which is debilitating to say the least!

My grandfather was Edward Hawes, married to Millicent Mary Hawes from the south London and Buckinghamshire/Berkshire area. Had 3 children Edward, Robert Stacey (my father) and Nancy. Sadly this is all I know of my family. Would love to find relatives!
