A few years back I did some research on the Havis tree from John, S.C., Thomas, S.C. to Ms., James, James, & Charles Bartlett in Ms., to Willie Dee's family who came to Tx when W.D. was 9 yrs old, 1916 I think. I found some births before 1760, but could not find natilnal origin or port of entry. Thomas had a son named John who went to Ark. Thomas's son Issac had a son named John who went to Ark to live with his uncle John. The uncle died and young John went to La. to live with and aunt. He joined a cattle drive to Tx about 1873. I think he died in Roaring Springs Tx. Uncle John I think was killed while serving as sheriff in Ark. I have not checked this out but heard it from WD, my father.

There was also a James, b 1737, whose widow (Catherine?) who applied for a pension (1804)for his service with Bouquet (had to be about 1761.
