William Bowne's wife is supposed to have been Mary Haverland. William Bowne was b. abt. 1600 in England and was in Salem, Mass., Gravesend, Long Island, New York and died Jan. 1677 at Portland Point, Monmouth Co., New Jersey. Mary was b. abt 1602 and died bef. 2 july 1669 in Middleton, Monmouth Co., New Jersey.

Source: Comptonology:
The first settlers in Monmouth County, New Jersey came from Long Island by 1670-among them were WILLIAM COMPTON, WILLIAM BOWNE and WILLIAM HAVILAND.

I beleive Mary's maiden name was not Haverland, but Haviland.

Any info on this early Haviland family would be very much appreciated.
