William Havens and Theodosia (Hunt)
I am searching for parents of my Theodosia Hunt, born ca 1766 – 1776; ALLI have on her is her death of20 Dec 1839 in Prattsburg, Steuben, NY; her husband, Willliam Havens d.1833 in Lowville, Lewis, NY. (I do not know where he is buried; his parents also not known). The best clue to my Hunt research is the name Albinus which appears to be widely used by the Hunts; there were a few Theodosias but not mine. The best clue for my William may be a Henry; did he have a brother, father, grandfather Henry???
William Havens and Theodosia (Hunt) married 1789 in Spencertown, Columbia Co., NY;named a son Albinus H.(Henry?) Havens who was born 19 Aug 1809; he died 28 Dec., 1833, possibly in Smithfield Twp., Bradford Co.PA – at least that is where he is buried.Hemd. Laura Ann Beach in August 1833 and they had a daughter Lucretia Havens who md. Spencer Crittenden. (I am wondering if the cemeteryreadings are correct for his death; Laura Ann md. in 1835 to Stephen Peckham).
To make a further connection for me, William Havens and Theodosia (Hunt) also had a daughter (my line) named Harriet (aka Hannah) born 1796 who md.Thomas Ames and they had a son Albinus Henry Ames. I have information on these from the Tri-Counties web site for Bradford County, PA. as well as other Hunts in Bradford County that do connect to each other but I do not know how/if they connect to my Theodosia (Hunt) Havens.
I have tracked my Hunt- Havens families to Michigan – so I am trying now to go backward to the parents of Theodosia & William and beyond, if possible. Theodosia was the 2nd wife of William Havens and for all I know she may have been married before, also – but I have no way of knowing that.
