I am a first generation Canadian. My dad immigrated from Assen, Netherlands in September of 1951. His father was Fokke and mother Gretje. There were 16 kids in the family (two moms). Two of the 16 children, my father, Marten and Step-uncle Reeks, came to Ontario.

I know that there is another family in Ontario. The "patriarch" is a second cousin to my dad....their grandfathers were brothers. I think his name is Michael here.
I do know that one of the younger children is Walter as he goes to University with my son!!

Very interested in connecting with the "Dutch" side of me. Very isolating in terms of family here. Only us!
