I have on loan to me a HAVEMAN family tree book. George haveman, son of Jan Haveman and Reintje Noorman was born in the Netherlands, and came to the US with his parents in 1868. They settled in MI. George married Lena Kruithof, and they lived on a farm across the road from his brother Tys Haveman. George and Tys did not always agree on everything. George and Lena had eight children, seven sons and one daughter, all born in MI. George died young, of Typhoid Fever in October of 1895 and his wife, Lena raised the children. Later, Lena married Frank Zighter. They had one daughter, Tena. Lena Kruithof haveman, Zighter passed away in 1937, late October or early November.
