Here is a pretty comprehensive family tree of my branch of the Welsh Havard's of Breacon: Please tell me if you slot in anywhere.
The Havards were a Norwegian Viking family of some social status and the first settlement. (occupation) in Normandy was in the hamlet of "Les Flamands" near Neuf-Marche, south of the town of Gournay-en-Bray between Rouen and Beavais. Many Havard's are not related to this branch of the family as they are decended from Norwegian Havard's (Haavard or Havard with a little 'o' over the first a). The English Havard's are mainly decended from the Welsh Havard. The Welsh Havard are decendents of Walter, a knight who supported William the Conquerer and his invasion of England. The area around Breacon was given to him as thanks and they married into the Royal family of Wales, the Vaughn's. Evidence of this can be seen in Breacon Cathedral on the tombstones. The family motto is "Hope in God", the crest a Bulls head on a white shield with three red stars surrounding it.
