My father (william) b. 1993, Burry Port,Nr Llanelli, my grandfather (Thomas Hughes Havard)b.6/9/1882, Cefn Coed, Merthyr..had two brothers (David & William) & two sisters (Margaret & Elizabeth), my great grandfather (checking name out), the younger of two brothers & lived on farm nr. Sennybridge, Nr Brecon but, g-g-dad had to find work at Dowlais, Merthyr (Iron Works)...in the thick of it during the Industrial Revolution!
Did you know.....our Family Chapel at Brecon Cathedral was adopted and taken over by the South Wales Borderers (Rorke's Drift, Islandawahla etc., earlier this century. Eerily, my wife's father served with the Regiment in Burma (WWII).
