Lyman Houpt (b. 1874) from Iowa and his wife Vera E. Houpt (from Minnesota) settled in Spotted Horse Precinct, Arthur Co., NE. It is now called Houpt Ranch. Their children are: Gordon (b. 1914), Betty (b. 1917), Dorothy (b. 1919), Donald (b. 1921), Rosald (b. 1923), and Logan (b. 1925).
