There were five Haupt family groups in Alabama during the early to mid 1800's. Here is what I know of them.

Sebastian Haupt - b. May 17, 1781 d. Oct. 3, 1835
m. Matilda (Brewster) - b. Sept. 20, 1793 d. July 18, 1880

Sebastian was a son of J. Henry S. Haupt (b. 1744) of Bucks Co., PA. Sebastian and Matilda Brewster would marry on Aug. 26, 1817 in Clark Co., AL. This family would later reside in Sumter Co., AL. Their children were: Lewis (b. May 5, 1820), Nancy Ann (b. Sept. 24, 1821), William Walton (b. Sept. 10, 1828), Elizabeth, A son (I believe named Charles) (b. 1835), and Sebastina (b. Jan. 24, 1836). There is a Charles Haupt residing in St. Louis, MO who was born abt. 1835 in Alabama.

Also associated with the above family is Henry Haupt (b. 1790 d. 1818). He was a brother to Sebastian Haupt and son of J. Henry S. Haupt of Bucks Co., PA. He had migrated to Alabama as well.

Madison Co.

Gustav Haupt - b. 1848
m. Ann (_______) - b. 1852

The above couple was married in Kentucky. Gustav was from Mecklenburg (Germany). They resided in Null Township in Madison Co., AL. Their children were: John (b. 1876), Dora (b. 1878), and Henry (b. 1879) - per 1880 census.

George Haupt - b. Feb. 19, 1782 d. May 13, 1831
m. Jestine (Barnard) - b. May 7, 1781 d. Sept. 1819

George was born in St. Augustine, FL and Jestine was born on Wilmington Island near Savannnah, GA. He was a son of John Haupt (b. 1754) and Elizabeth (Bollinger) Haupt who later resided in Savannah, GA. George and Jestine would have just one child. His name was George Washington Haupt - b. July 4, 1817 d. May 3, 1834. They resided in Mobile City.

John Lavender Haupt - b. Jan. 28, 1806 d. Aug. 22, 1877
m. Matilda B. (Christopher) - b. 1806

John was a son of John Henry Haupt (b. 1780) of Savannah, GA and was a nephew to George Haupt (b. 1782) of Mobile Co., AL. John and Matilda married Nov. 5, 1829. They would have the following children: Mary S. (b. 1831), Rebecca E. (b. 1834), William H. (b. 1836 d. 1860), John H. (b. 1837 d. 1863), Elizabeth Jewett (b. 1840), Charles Christopher (b.
