John Joseph Haupt, Bohemia>KS

I am researching information about my great-grandparents John Joseph and Anna Mary (Hauberhauer) Haupt who immigrated to Doniphan County, Kansas in 1899 and 1900. John's naturalization certificate lists Zwittau, Bohemia, Austria as their origin. I have since determined that this is the modern-day city of Svitavy in the Czech Republic. I know there were relatives that my grandmother communicated with in Germany, but I don't know what city they lived in. John was born around 1869, but I do not know his parents' names. He had two daughters, Pauline and Mary, from a previous marriage that lived with relatives in Austria but were actually naturalized American citizens. Does anyone know of a branch of the Haupt clan that moved to Austria? If so, please e-mail me at Any help will be greatly appreciated.
