Hi, again, and thanks - I have Hathaway here at home and will go through it some more - - are you per chance in Raleigh? My son lives in Raleigh and if you are not there, I will get to the archives next time I'm there and see if I can dig up any more - my two times there in the past have been very hurried, and I might be able to do better = I'm in Jacksonville, FL - I have just never seen a reference for proof that it was Mary Luten - could be that branch's family lore, and could be correct, but where did it come from? I descend from two of original Thomas' sons - William and Charles - confusion over wives of Thomas, too - could be three of those -interesting note: William Haughton was married to a Mary by 1722 because she was attacked by Christopher Butler and the case was in court by 1722 - ref. Saunders, Colonial Records of NC, volume 3, pp. 442 and 472 - was Hannah the daughter of Senior George Fordyce, the daughter of Junior George, or perhaps even Senior George's sister - or mother? who knows - sure could use the administration papers of that estate - SIGH!!
