Hello Kathy, My father was looking around out on this site and found your message this a.m.He brought it to my attention because you are the grandaughter of his "Aunt Jean" and the daughter of his cousin "Med."While I have done no research on the family, let me give you what little I have of more recent history.Your grandmother was the sister of my grandfather, Lawrence Orville Hauger (b 21 Aug 1902 in Sullivan Co. IN, d. 23 Feb. 1984, Vigo Co. IN, brd. Little Flock Cemetery, Shelburn, IN), born to (Wm) Edward Hauger and Ida Owens (her mother was a Pirtle) (m. 28 Jan. 1900).Edward's parents were Delostus Hauger (we think buried in Liberty Cemetery in Sullivan Co.) and Martha Jane Adams.
Edward died while my grandfather, Lawrence, was young and Ida was killed in the Shelburn, IN tornado that occurred about 52 or 53 years ago. She is also buried in Little Flock Cemetery in Shelburn. There was a lot of newpaper coverage relating to this tornado and a little informaiton on those killed in the Sullivan Times and the Terre Haute Tribune-Star if you would find that helpful.
Since your message was posted quite some time ago,if you have more information on the family by this time, I would appreciate it if you would share via my e-mail below. Sorry I have so little information.I hope this helps.
