Hi Melissa,
While I don't see a clear connection between the names in your tree and mine, the Afton birth or death date in your first message makes me think there must be some sort of cousin relationship.

The earliest Hatton in my tree that I've found is a William Hatton, born about 1805 in England, and immigrated sometime after to New York state. William Hatton and his family - children John Henry, William, Marshall, and Alice, are all born in the 1850s. They are all found in the Guilford and Oxford (Chenango county) censuses in New York state. Same area where Afton is which makes me think there must be a relationship.

Let's talk more via email. Maybe we can find the link by looking through census records or eventually birth/marriage/death. My email address should be visible - please send me an email when you get a chance and we can start corresponding more easily via email.
