I'm getting 'curiouser' and 'curiouser' as I go finding bits and pieces regarding all of this but just now looking at information on the known children of Richard PEARIS, I find that he had three children with his 1st wife, Rhoda, but that he probably also had children with his 2nd wife, a Cherokee woman, that from all accounts appears to have been Pratch(e)y HATTON but no information on their names.

Richard and Rhoda PEARIS children named Sarah, Richard, and, possibly, a 2nd Richard are in Frederick County, Virginia in the same timeframe that Hugh PIERCE was said to have been born there.

If Richard PEARIS relationship with Pratch(e)y HATTON was going on prior to or during his marriage to 1st wife, Rhoda, then it is entirely possible that if Prachey didn't already live in the Frederick County, Virginia area where Richard PEARIS was with his family that he might very well have relocated her there if and when she was pregnant with his child which could complete explain no birth records if they had been the parents of Hugh PIERCE, (RS,) born: abt. 1749/1751 in Frederick County, Virginia and could explain very well how he met and married the Cherokee woman Sofia/Sophia HUNTER, daughter of Cherokee parents father, Bold HUNTER, and mother, Beaver TOTER.

And if this Bold HUNTER is, indeed, the same individual known as Bold HUNTER with the 'white' name of (Chief) John BOWLES, Sr. whose family is MOYTOY descended as was Pratchey HATTON through her Cherokee mother.

Then it all makes even more 'close proximity' and family connection wise with the other marriages that took place in my ongoing Cherokee/Choctaw/Chickasaw/Shawnee marriages taking place between my HATTON/HATTEN, MYRICK, PIERCE, BOWLES, BENGE, and other families all going back to MOYTOY family and the men who were Traders.

Again, Nadia, looking forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,

Bellinda Myrick-Barnett
