To all who are interested, I just received from the national archives the pension request by Tabitha Downs-Hattaway for her husbands service in the War of 1812. Due to difficulty of proving her marriage to Elisha, Tabitha went to great lengths to secure a widows pension and there were multiple court documents that accompanied that request. I have the complete file for anyone that would like to have it. Please provide your email and I will send it to you.
