Hi David D.Hatt of Flint
We are distant cousins. I am a Hatt from the same line as you are. William Hatt was born in England in 1758 and came to America around 1775 or so. He was thought to have ben kidnapped on a ship as a young boy and jumpted overboard on the east coast and swam ashore. Then in 1775 he married a woman named Nancy and started our family line. I am a descendet from his son William born in 1786 in New York. From there his son William born 1809,then his son William born 1847,then his son Alva, my greatgrandfather. Alva"s son Paul, my grandfather. Paul"s son Norman, my dad. The Hatt"s traveled from New York to Michigan around 1836 and lived farms in the little town of Deerfield. Then my part of the family went to Argentine,Mich.,then to Eaton Rapids and Lansing where I live. Note: William S. Hatt is buried near you David in Fenton in Oakwood Cemetery. David, can you trace your line of Hatt"s back for the forum?
