I am new to this and not sure where to start. So here goes My Grandfathers' name was Vernon Burkett Hathorn he had 4 sons and 4 daughters. My dad being the baby his name was John Sr. and mine being John Jr. Before my dad passed away I had asked him several times if anyone had ever looked up our family tree. He would joke and say they ( family members) were afraid of finding horse thieves hanging in it.
The only info he could give me was a story about 3 Hathorn brothers from Ireland who came to the states and married 3 Scottish sisters. Not knowing where to start really sucks but if anyone could give me some pointers.
