Anna Hathaway, daughter of Isaac Hathaway and
Sarah Makepeace. Anna Born 12/7/1714 in Plymouth Massachusetts or Freetown(Nearby)
Married John Canedy, 11/7/1734 in Middleboro.
John is son of the First Canedy, Alexander,
often spelled Elexander and Elizabeth Annable. Alexander was in plymouth County
at Monponsett , Plympton by 1672. More on alexander if you need it. Johns Brother William was a hero in saving his fort on the Pennobscott river in maine, from indians. A Prominant figure in Taunton where many of his descendants still live. John and Anna had
six children. All born in Middleboro.Sarah b.8/16/1737, married Silas Randall. Betty
b.2/1/1739, m.ebenezer hackett 1/12/1764.,
Martha Canedy b. 7/4/1741,m.David pierce.
Hugh Canedy b.6.6.1744, m.Bathsheba Baker,
d.7/14/1808. Isaac Canedy b. 12/6/1746, married Deborah Benson 4/30/1769 3 children.
d.1811. Alexander Canedy b.9/24/1747.
m.Mary Smith, Rochester. d.2/4/1769.
I descend , we think, from Isaac who moved after the Revolution with other family
members to Greenwich, Ma. More precisely, I descend from Peleg Canedy who we believe was the son of Isaac but have been unable to prove it. Lots of Canedys in this country descend from Hugh. I and my son are the only ones of Pelegs line.....Do you have any info that might help me solve this question.
Good Day! John C.
