Is there one person on this forum who is truly an expert on the Hatfield genealogy? If so, I can use you help sorting fact from fiction. There is so much bogus information out there it's ridiculous! One person has his supposed Hatfield ancestor married to woman 24 years older than him. Not likey, huh?
I wrote down a lot of Hatfield information taken directly from a newspaper interview with Anderson (aka Anse) Hatfield re: his family. I would assume that information is fairly accurate.
A lot of the information on my husband's connection is taken from an old family-kept notebook from family reunions in 1939-41 in Bloomdale, Wood Co OH.
Those two sources I deem fairly accurate. Another good source for me was Findagrave.com Also likely accurate to within a couple years on birthdates.
Unfortunately it seems like most of the people on Genform are only interested in somehow trying to tie their ancestry to "Devil Anse".
That is why I am looking for someone with valid, proven data on the VA/WV/KY and OH Hatfield's.
My main area of interest at the moment is the LORENZO DOW HATFIELD born c.1843 in OH who married 1st- Mary Esther Adams and 2nd to Ella E. Myers in Wood Co OH or Hancock Co OH. Would love to learn who this Lorenzo descends from.
Does anyone have that information in their family lines??
