I have Hatfields in the same area. (being from Pennsylvania myself, I know a bit of history about the area and how the County lines changed over the years) My line is found Amwell Twp, Washington Co, PA. Although mine stayed in the area. I have some interest in your line because Ruth Hatfield Gray was found in Iowa at a two points. 1. 1860 Census her husband working on the railroad. 2. Again in 1905.
Here is my Hatfield line in PA
Abraham Hatfield and Margaret Winans had
William Hatfield who married Ann Wright had
Samuel Hatfield (b Jul 1761 d. 1842 Washington Co, Pennsylvania) who married Eliabeth _________ had
William Hatfield who married Unity (believed to be Summers no proof at this time) (Pictures of headstones)
Children: Elizabeth, Samuel, Unity, William, Harriet, Robert Dougherty, Julia, Sarah, Hannah, Elias and Ruth (my direct line to Hatfields).
Samuel Hatfield b. 1832 d.1904 (Fayette Co, Pennsylvania)
married: Sarah J.
Children:
John W., Elizabeth, James, William, Mary E., Elmer, Sarah, Demas, Albert, Mine, Ralph
