Deborah, Yes, I am fortunate because my husband travels for work and I get to fly free with him. He's working now near Williamsburg, VA so I've been able to go and do a lot of research in the area. We both have ancestors from all over Virginia. I've been working on this particular Hatfield line for a couple of years now, but have been a genealogist for over 25 years. I have yet to find the name SHARP in my research on the Hatfields. My line of Hatfields started in Pennsylvania around 1690 and then went to Montgomery Co., VA and then to Vigo County, Indiana and then on briefly to Keokuk, Iowa and then to Calhoun Co., IL and then to Lincoln Co., Missouri. I will keep a lookout for SHARP while I research in VA.
My husband's Powell family were from Tennessee (in 1800) and then they went on to Greene Co., IL by 1830. They might originally have been from VA, but I have not found the connection as yet.
I will let you know if I find anything.
You can email me direct at [email protected] if you have any more questions.
Thanks,
Elaine Hatfield Powell
