Found a couple of clues for you.

Jesse David Hatfied b. 20 Oct 1886 (WWI Draft Card) living in Sesser, Franklin Co., IL in June 1917 with wife and two children. Born Marion Co., IL. Medium height and build. Works for Modern Coal Co.

1910 Census living in Franklin Co., IL with Belle D. and sister-in-law ??? Meek (???=hard to read)

1920 Census Goode Twp., Franklin Co., IL (Jessie) with Isabelle and three children
Ruby 8
Ellen 5
Jesse 1 and 6/12

1930 Census Blue Island, City, Calumet Twp., Cook Co., IL
Jess D, Isabelle B, Ruby - (x'ed out) Ellen, Jesse R. and Charles (8).

1900 Census Centralia, Marion Co., IL son of John and Mary E. Hatfield. Jessie b. Oct 1886. Mary had 8 children and 6 were living. Jesse was second eldest living at home.
